Lights blazing in Murcia
La Manga Villa news crew reports…The lights may be going out on the British high street, but apparently all’s well in Murcia. Spending on Christmas lights is up 12 per cent on last year. Murcia’s Christmas lights were switched on last Friday and will keep shinning until January 7. In keeping with the green agenda 82 per cent of the bulbs are low energy LED lights, so the municipal electricity bill should be lower than 2007. The decision to increase the budget is in marked contrast to the rest of Spain – where 12 major cities have reported budget cuts for street decorations.
