La Manga Club – renting a car

Posted in La Manga Club renting a car

All the big car rental companies you would expect are represented at Murcia and Alicante airport. We use La Manga Rent a Car. They seem to be the most popular car rental company on the La Manga Club – probably because they have an office there.

La Manga rent a car

The cars are always in good condition and our favourite model, the VW Touran, is part of the fleet. Booking is easy, you can call them on +34 968 14 60 00, or go online to the newly revamped http://www.lamangarentacar.com/.

La manga rent a car - San Javier airport

The only slightly disconcerting sight for the first time user is La Manga Rent a Car ‘mobile’ airport office. Unlike the other big companies which have permanent offices in the airport itself, La Manga Rent a Car has opted for a van in the airport car park. The site of a dusty white van with minimal logos and flat tyres (I’m guessing to prevent anyone driving off with it) can be off-putting. But there’s always a company representative on hand to complete the forms and bring round your hire car. Check out is even easier, generally you just park the car and drop the keys in the van.  Directions to the vans, which can be tricky to find in the large airport car parks, are available here:

La Manga Club - Airports

Posted in La Manga Club airports

La Manga Club aiport

La Manga club is served by two airports, Alicante and Murcia.

Murcia (San Javier) is the nearest, being just 20 minutes away from the La Manga Club resort. It is small, but expanding. Facilities are fairly limited – one café near the entrance, one through the departure gates and don’t expect to spend too long in the duty free shop. The upside is that everything is very close. Check-in desks are a two-minute walk from the departures, with parking directly outside the terminal. Despite its size, the airport is served by many of the low-cost airlines including : Monarch, www.jet2.com, Ryanair, Easyjet and Flybe. A full list of the airlines and where they fly from is available here http://www.villalamanga.com/flights.html

Alicante Airport is a medium-sized busy hub serving the whole Costa Calida area. It is modern and efficient, with all the facilities you would expect. While not as compact as Murcia, its still fairly easy to get around, you don’t have to walk far to get anywhere. Like Murcia it is served by the low-cost airlines including Monarch, jet2com, Ryanair, Easyjet, Flybe, BMI Baby and Air Scotland. A full list of the airlines and where they fly from is available here http://www.villalamanga.com/flights.html

Monarch named airline of choice by Max and Louis

Posted in Monarch named airline of choice

Max aged 9 and Louis aged 8 announce that Monarch Airlines is carrier of choice for villalamanga.com holidays.

La Manga Club, Spain: Max and Louis today announced that Monarch Airlines is the 2007 Carrier of Choice for villalamanga.com holidays. Monarch beat four other airlines to win the prestigious title.

La Manga Club airline of the year

Monarch topped the poll because:

  • The air streurwards are nice

  • The seats give you room to move your feet

  • The pilots are normally cheery
    The toilets are always clean

  • The food is nice

“We fly to La Manga loads and Mum and Dad are always more happy when we fly Monarch,” said Max Levine. “Like other old people, they don’t like to push and shove to get our seats, which you have to on other planes. Dad also lost his temper with another plane company when they charged him extra because Mum had packed all our stuff in just two suitcases instead of four, which Mr Ryan likes better.”

Villalamanga.com specialises in marketing self-catering holidays at the La Manga Club. The website site provides visitors with a tour of the privately owned villa, together with tips and advice for people holidaying at the resort.
